RENTING YOUR POINTS

What does it mean to rent your points?

If you have DVC points you will not be using, renting them can help ensure they don’t go to waste, while another family enjoys a magical stay.

Polynesian

What does renting DVC points actually mean?

Renting your DVC points does not transfer or sell your Disney Vacation Club ownership. Instead, you use your points to make a reservation for a Guest and receive an agreed payout in return.

The reservation remains under your control as the DVC Member. The Guest receives the right to stay in the accommodation but does not gain access to your Membership, account or points.

When might renting your points be useful?

Renting can be worth considering when you know that some or all of your points are unlikely to be used.

You are not planning a DVC holiday during the current Use Year
You have more points available than you expect to need
Your banking deadline has passed
Banked or current points are approaching their expiry date

If your points are still eligible to be banked and you expect to use them next year, banking may be the simpler option. If not, renting can help you make use of points that might otherwise expire.

How renting through DVC Rental UK works

DVC Rental UK acts as the intermediary between you and the Guest. We source suitable requests, coordinate the booking details, manage communication and administer the payments.

1

Join as a Member

Complete our Member Sign Up, identity verification and Member Agreement.

2

Tell us about your points

Provide your Home Resort, Use Year, point status, expiry date and the number available.

3

We look for a suitable Guest

We match available points with suitable requests based on resort, dates, availability and booking window.

4

You choose whether to accept

We confirm the request details and your GBP payout before you commit to the reservation.

5

You make the reservation

You book the exact stay through your DVC account using the Guest details we provide.

6

We handle the Guest side

Once verified, we manage the Guest communication, booking administration and payments.

How and when are Members paid?

Your applicable payout rate is confirmed in pounds before you accept a reservation. Once accepted, the agreed payout for that reservation is fixed in accordance with the Member Agreement.

50%

Paid within three business days once the Guest has paid in full and the DVC confirmation has been verified.

50%

The remaining half is paid on the Guest’s check-in date.

Payments are made by bank transfer in GBP to your nominated account.

What information should you have ready?

These details help us understand which Guest requests your points could be used for.

Home Resort The resort attached to your DVC contract.
Points available How many points you would like to make available.
Use Year and expiry When the points must be used by.
Point status Whether they are Current, Banked, Borrowed or in Holding.

Point status matters because different points can have different expiry dates and booking restrictions.

Points or a confirmed reservation?

Renting available points

Your points are matched with a new Guest request. Once you accept the request, you make the reservation using the Guest details provided.

Renting a confirmed reservation

An existing reservation may be offered for its exact dates, resort and accommodation. Suitability and availability should be checked with us before anything is changed or cancelled.

Why your Home Resort and timing matter

Members can normally book their Home Resort up to 11 months before check-in and other DVC resorts up to 7 months before check-in. Points available during the Home Resort window may therefore be especially useful for popular resorts and travel dates.

Points offered close to expiry can be more difficult to match because there are fewer possible travel dates and less resort availability. Matching is not guaranteed, so it is generally best to make unused points available as early as possible.

What remains your responsibility?

You remain responsible for your Membership and the reservation throughout the rental.

Keep your Membership, annual dues and other obligations up to date
Provide accurate information about your points and reservation
Make the reservation exactly as instructed and provide its confirmation
Do not cancel or alter a confirmed reservation without written approval
Help with approved changes that can only be completed by the Member
Pass on any important DVC communication that could affect the stay

DVC Rental UK handles communication with the Guest. The Guest manages their own travel, park tickets and most dining arrangements, while any approved request requiring access to the DVC Membership is passed back to you.
